Deg tegh fateh Sikh Society is a volunteer-based organization who has aim to serve free food for community members (Sanagt) and native needy people.

Langar is what Sikhs refer to as a communal meal. Volunteers prepare langar in the community kitchen at a Gurdwara (a place of worship for Sikhs). A vegetarian meal is served to all, regardless of their religion, gender, race or socioeconomic status. The idea is to have everyone sit and enjoy a meal together, all in an effort to promote equality, seva (community service) and togetherness.
